Al-Makhrour is a place near Bethlehem, in the countryside, where my family’s house is. It is located in Area C of the West Bank, where Israel exercises civilian and military control. The house is in danger of being demolished by Israeli settlers that are already building on those lands, as part of Israel’s ongoing process of further settler-colonial annexation of occupied Palestinian territory. Personal archives are full of images that connect us to certain stories. For my family, this is the house in Al-Makhrour.
